The Tex Term Series comprises two-part books, one part containing scientific and technical descriptions of the subject, in this case `four-wheel drive' with numerous bi-lingual annotations. The second part contains a comprehensive list of all relevant words. They are ordered alphabetically (English/German and German/English) and are supplemented by an extensive context. The book is a technical textbook and dictionary together in one volume. A technical translator is obliged to know the technical background of the text he is translating - here he finds the background and the related expressions. The above mentioned statement is valid not only for the professional translator but also for the translating correspondent in export or import firms, for engineers and technicians who work with texts as operating guides, part lists, patent specifications etc.
