Description
Massimo Listri, an internationally renowned photographer of interiors, known for his masterly use of perspective, carried out an ad hoc photographic campaign for the Vatican Museums in 2011 in the spaces that house classical statuary, published in this catalogue.
The following are Listri's refined colour images, in double-page reproductions, which highlight the extraordinary depth and vividness of the photographic composition. They include views of the Chiaramonti Museum and the Hall of the `Biga', as well as the rooms and the most evocative glimpses of the Pio Clementino Museum, such as the Statue Gallery and the Hall of Animals. From 16 October to 2 December 2014, a selection of the photographs published in this volume is exhibited in the Vatican Museums.
