内容説明

Wolverhampton Wanderers have had mixed fortunes since they formed as St. Luke's side in 1877, going on to become founder members of the Football League in 1888. They have lifted the FA Cup on numerous occasions, they have been champions of Division One and they have in their time hosted some of the best Continental teams of the time at Molineux and beaten them. There has been disaster too - relegation to the Third Division (North) following an awful season in the 1920s. A steady slip through the divisions in the 1980s saw them bounce back dramatically when the dream of returning to the Premiership was realised in 2003. Wolves players down the years have had their highs and lows. Here, for the first time, is a tribute to 100 of the club's outstanding performers. Illustrated throughout with high quality photographs, "The Legends of Wolves" will delight all true football fans. After great deliberation, the author has made a selection of players that includes some of his own particular favourites from recent times, as well as paying tribute to stars of a bygone era. Some of the outstanding performers of the 20th century, who helped the club to achieve its success, are commemorated. "The Legends of Wolves" will be an important addition to the bookshelves of anyone with an interest in this proud club, and is sure to appeal to Wolves fans of all ages.
