Description

The Christmas story is recreated here in all its medieval majesty, from the deep blues and greens and rich reds of Horenbout's Nativity, to the marvelously detailed Annunciation to the Shepherds by the Master of the Duke of Bedford. The text is taken from William Tyndale's New Testament translation and is illustrated using illuminated manuscripts from the collection of the British Library. With a pictorial index at the end of the book to provide details about the manuscripts and illustrators, this is a Christmas gift to be treasured by young and old alike.
