Description
In this edition of FAO's State of Food Insecurity in the World, estimates indicate that the trend in global hunger reduction continues: about 805 million people were estimated to be chronically undernourished in 2012-14, down by more than 100 million over the last decade and by 209 million compared to 1990/92. This means that the Millennium Development Goal hunger target of halving the proportion of undernourished people by 2015, is within reach. Yet today, about one in every nine people in the world still do not have enough food to conduct an active and healthy life.
