内容説明

This is an illustrated field-guide to the wild orchids of Britain and Europe which includes information on orchid biology, distribution and classification, as well as descriptions of species, subspecies and in some cases their numerous variants for purposes of identification. It also gives advice on where and when these flowers may be seen and photographed in their natural habitat. A feature of the book is its country-by-country coverage, with information of species from Iceland to Israel, and from the Canaries to the Caucasus. It is intended to be a reference book for experts and enthusiasts alike. Anthony Huxley, a member of the council of the Royal Horticultural Society, holds their highest award, the Victoria Medal of Honour. He is a well-known writer on botanical and horticultural subjects. Paul and Jenne Davies are lifelong orchid enthusiasts and specialists in orchid photography.
