内容説明
Intended as an introduction to the complex field of 20th-century feminism, the second edition of this text offers a more comprehensive and redrawn map of the field. It provides up-to-date coverage of liberal, radical and Marxist-socialist schools of feminism, as well as psychoanalytic, existentialist and postmodern feminism. New chapters have been added on ecofeminism, multicultural and global feminism. The author acquaints readers with many of the essential figures in the feminist tradition as well as some of the issues that have been of special concern to women, including pornography, reproductive technology, housework, the environment and militarism. Readers are urged to consider the many differences that separate women as well as the things which continue to unite them. Tong intends to treat all views with respect and encourages the reader to think both sympathetically and critically about the relevance of feminism to their own lives.
