内容説明
Miroslav Valek was one of the leading figures in Slovak poetry in the sixties. Based on images and events, often in an urban setting, his poetry was (and is) a poetry of understanding people, yet at the same time a poetry of a certain wistfulness - at times of resignation.
While Czech poets have been widely published in translation, the only significant exposure of their Slovak contemporaries has been through Modry Peter's 1993 anthology Not Waiting for Miracles. That Slovakia has her own distinctive culture and highly imaginative literature is clear from this edition of one of her major writers, which shows Miroslav Valek to be a poet of international status.
This edition was copublished by Bloodaxe Books with Modry Peter.
