"This publication is an initiative of SCHUNCK in Heerlen, the Netherlands, and was produced to accompany as well as compliment the exhibition Basquiat: The Artist and his New York Scene, held at SCHUNCK in Heerlen, from 2 February-2 June 2019. The exhibition included, as well as elaborated on, the exhibition Basquiat Before Basquiat: East 12th Street, 1979-1980.
