Subtitle: Wherein little uſe has been made of Fuller, Heylin, Burnet, Collier, or any other eccleſiaſtical writers, the author's principal design being to ſhew, as well what it might have been, in the opinion of the first and greatest reformers, as what it was also including a more full, clear, and faithful history of Mary Queen of Scots, than has hitherto been publiſh'd, moſt of the memoirs for it being taken from records and state papers. N. B. there is no where a more circumſtantiated account of affairs, civil, military and political in theſe Reigns, than will here be met with, that this work might not loſe the advantage of being a due portion of a compleat hiſtory of England
