Description

This photocopiable pack for a number of GCSE, TVEI and City and Guilds courses, is an introductory guide to the modern music business, covering style and taste, marketing and finance. Included are interviews with key personnel at RCA and EMI, such as product managers, press officers and marketing people. Real life case studies are included, detailing the release and marketing strategies for three records, by Rick Astley, the Eurythmics and So. There is also a simulation game, containing role cards, fact sheets and three demo-tape songs on cassette, which would enable students to explore a bands career from signing to chart success. All the authors were founder members of the Haringey Media Education Project.
