Description
本書は、国内の代表的な昆虫図鑑に掲載されている昆虫・ムシ類の索引である。見出しとしての昆虫名のほか、学名、漢字表記、別名、科名など、その昆虫の特定に必要な基礎情報を補記し、その昆虫がどの図鑑にどのような名称で掲載されているかを示したものである。２０１１年から２０２０年までに刊行されたもの５７種６３冊の図鑑に掲載されている昆虫、ムシ類１６，０８３種（延べ２９，６４４件）を収録した。索引対象にした図鑑は別表（「収録図鑑一覧」）に示した。なお、学習参考書及び児童書は原則収録対象外とした。
