The ethical relevance of biblical texts is based on their literary nature, which allows foreign textual worlds to emerge and opens up spaces for the reader to think and act. As evidence, they are rooted in a specific socio-cultural context and demand a critical ethical judgment on the part of the reader. Their ethical significance is determined by whether they can also be attested to as just in the present.
