Description

This proceeding presents recent advancements and practical applications of geophysical methods to solve construction-related problems or to facilitate the construction process. New methods and improvements to existing methods are also discussed. Geophysical techniques can assist the construction industry in many ways, before during and after construction. Pre-construction activities presented include utility engineering, site reconnaissance, and anomaly detection. During construction, geophysical techniques used as economical and rapid quality control or process control tools are represented. The authors also demonstrate how geophysical methods can be used after the completion of the project to monitor the overall health or determine the causes or consequences of localized or general construction problems.
