Description
The Historical Dictionary of Montenegro covers the period of some fifteen centuries in which the name of the country evolved from Doclea, through Zeta to Montenegro, and its political status from a loose community of tribes, a principality, a kingdom, a district, a banate, a constitutive republic, from disappearing from the political map of the world in the first half of the twentieth century to a state with full independence at the start of the twenty-first century.
This is done through a chronology, an introduction, and an extensive bibliography. The dictionary section has more than 800 cross-referenced entries on important personalities as well as aspects of the country's politics, economy, foreign relations, religion, and culture. This book is an excellent resource for students, researchers, and anyone wanting to know more about Montenegro.
