This book shows that the contemporary sense of scepticism and distrust displays more than a pernicious nihilism for its prophet Friedrich Nietzsche, who signalled a new spiritualization of nature and life. Understanding transcendence in a different, post-religious fashion, we find that Nietzsche’s philosophy takes us beyond the simple ‘death of God’ scenario. It holds out an affirmative spirit of the heart, of joy in the eternal and continual renewal of our ‘god-creating’ power and will to honour the higher Whole.
