The 41st volume of Annual Review of Gerontology and Geriatrics, "Black Older Adults in the Era of Black Lives Matter," reflects an important moment in the continuing development and maturation of research and scholarship on the lives of older Black Americans. The volume includes literature reviews and empirical analyses on a broad range of topics, including physical and mental health status, psychosocial factors and health, biomarkers, cognitive health, social networks and relationships, social isolation and loneliness, marriage and romantic relationships, discrimination, and cancer caregiving within the family context. In addition, it examines issues familiar to gerontology, such as relationships with family, intimate partners, and fictive kin.
