内容説明

A series of recent archaeological investigaxtions in Ely has revealed Saxon and later archaeological remains between Broad Street and the river Great Ouse which make an important contribution to the study of the medieval urban development of this important settlement. This volume takes an integrative approach utilising the structural, artefactual and environmental evidence from several sites plus documentary and cartographic sources to consider the topography and development of this part of Ely.
