Snowboarding is a growth sport, and it's part of a wider culture of alternative/lifestyle/action sports that are the subject of plenty of critical scholarly attention within sport studies.
Women and sport (exclusion, engagement, equity, etc) is an absolutely central topic in sport studies, and a massively important issue in wider sport and society.
