Description
This volume suggests multiple alternatives for globalization and development, showcasing new research by young scholars from several developing countries. Addressing a variety of specific topics such as trade regimes, financial fragility, currency convertibility, monetary policy labour and employment, cross-national growth comparisons, and China's growth experience, the book suggests policy alternatives away from the mainstream discourse. Located in the context of each country being studied where the discussion moves beyond the general to the particular, it refutes the 'one-size-fits-all' approach.
