Summary:"A massive program of infrastructure development and financing, China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is often described as a giant geopolitical move on Beijing's part. Yet, while the program may be geopolitical in its intention, whether it is geopolitically significant in its effects remains to be seen. Based on ground-level fieldwork, the contributions to this volume take stock of the downstream effects of the BRI in a wide range of countries from Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland to Ethiopia and Nepal.
