日本のネットワークとコンピュータの拠点として、新たに設立された「情報基盤センター」の開所後、初の展覧会“Ｔｈｅ Ｆｕｔｕｒｅ ｏｆ ｔｈｅ Ｂｏｏｋ ｏｆ ｔｈｅ Ｆｕｔｕｒｅ”。フロリダ州立大学の構想により始まったこの企画展は、Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔがきっかけとなって、フロリダ、アラスカを回って、日本へ巡回することとなり、構想も新たに展示される。本というメディアを芸術の視点から解剖し、情報科学と文化を融合させるための、様々な仮説がここに繰り広げられている。このカタログは、その記録であり、思考のはじまりである。
