台湾では，日本統治下で築かれ，日本ではすでに失われてしまった産業遺産が多数残されている．その中から，台湾北部の基隆周辺における金鉱や炭鉱に残された鉱山遺産の保存・活用の現状について報告する．また，台湾における産業遺産にかかわる文化財保護の取り組みや，台北市内の産業遺産についても簡単に紹介する．
