内容説明
The use of superconducting materials in many motors, machines, and power transmission lines has led to great increases in efficiency, reduction in the use of materials, and therefore of cost. The design of such machinery is dependent on certain physical properties peculiar to superconducting materials. One major area of engineering interest is the problem of energy dissipation in AC fields, the subject of this book. After a brief description of the types of machine and materials, Dr Kovachev discusses the properties of so-called "Type II Superconductors", experimental techniques for measuring energy dissipation, surface conditions, surface barriers, temperature and field dependence, and finishes with a discussion of some real systems.
