内容説明
This treatise covers both thermodynamic and molecular-kinetic aspects of polymer adhesion, treating generalities governing the formation and performance of adhesive joints within the framework of thermodynamics. The molecular-kinetic approach is implicated in the nature of contact polymers and the interfacial region. The formation processes of the contact surface and the interaction between contacting specimens are discussed. The concepts of adhesion as a route for increasing condensed phase adhesiveness are considered, and the efficiency of these routes illustrated by examples showing the targeted synthesis of polymer adhesives and the substrate preparation-to-bonding procedures. There is also a theoretical analysis of adhesion phenomena, a quantitative estimation of the influence of macromolecular chains and their role, new methods of calculation of the molecular parameters of polymers determining adhesion properties and a review of the physico-chemical principles of improving solids adhesiveness.
