Abstract

Abstract
The simultaneous decomposition reaction of a catalyst and indicator shows the characteristic L-shape absorbance-time curve. This reaction system provides the kinetic behavior (i.e., the chemical amplification) and the equilibrium behavior. Also, it becomes possible to have a highly-sensitive determination of a catalyst without the limitation of measuring time. This new concept of sensing was realized using the 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-sulfophenyl)porphine (indicator) / iron-chlorophyllin complex (catalyst) / peroxomonosulfate [KHSO5] (oxidant) system and copper-phthalocyanine-tetrasulfonate / hemoglobin / KHSO5 system.
