Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>A novel dimanganese complex LMnII(OH)(OAc)MnIIL (1) (L = hydrotris(3,5-diisopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)borate) was synthesized by the reaction of LMnII(OH)2MnIIL with 1 equiv of acetic acid. Complex 1 was oxidized either by dioxygen or anaerobic reaction with H2O2, resulting in the formation of two isolable products [LMnIII(O)(OAc)MnIIIL]+(2) and LMnIII(O)2(OAc)MnIVL(3). The formation of 2 was identified by comparison with an authentic sample prepared from bis(μ-oxo) complex LMnIII(O)2MnIIIL. The structure of the 3 was determined by X-ray crystallography.</jats:p>
