Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>A Novel efficient and simple synthetic protocol for the Biginelli reaction has been developed for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones in a one-pot three-component condensation of aldehydes, β-dicarbonyl compounds, and urea or thio-urea by using 10 mol % l-proline as the catalyst under solvent free condition.</jats:p>
