内容説明

This book applies the principles of genetics and genetic analytical techniques to the study of embryology and animal development. Focusing on three animal systems - the fruit fly Drosophilia, the nematode Caenorhabditis, and the mouse - this illustrated book introduces readers to developmental biology, explains the basis of the genetic and molecular techniques used to study developmental change, and summarizes the current thinking in this area. The author concludes that a partial revision of the past twenty years' guiding theory is called for in light of his new findings, which are presented in toto in this volume.
