内容説明
The vibration of structures and components subjected to significant fluid dynamic loads is a problem experienced by a wide range of industries from civil engineering to power generation and chemical processing. For example, designers and engineers face similar problems whether they are dealing with the effects of winds on bridge decks or the interaction between high flow rates and closely-packed, long slender tubes in heat exchangers. The problems discussed at this meeting range from the estimation of damping ratios for large structures subjected to wind loading using the Humber bridge as an example, to the flow-induced vibrations experienced by long slender risers and cylinders in sheared velocity profiles. The continued need for physical modelling of the effects of flow induced vibrations in tube banks found in boilers and heat exchangers is highlighted, while many papers address themselves to fundamental problems. This meeting of world experts provided a forum for practical engineers, designers and researchers for the exchange of experience and ideas for the benefit of engineering design and practice as a whole.
