内容説明
Presenting a critical review of major issues in commercial fisheries management, this book suggests practical methods for controlling the present overcapacity of fishing fleets worldwide and for improving economic performance. In particular, it discusses the advantages and limitations of quota allocations (or quantitative fishing rights). Simple mathematical models are used as a basis for understanding complex dynamic interactions between the biology of fish populations and the economics of the fishing industry. Other topics include the management of developing fisheries, natural fluctuations of fish stocks and the complexities of marine ecosystems.
