In June 1985, two months before the third Review Conference, the influential Geneva-based Groupe de Bellerive, chaired by Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, convened a colloquim attended by leading advisers to the superpowers, representatives of the Third World, and eminent scientists, strategists and politicians. In an unofficial setting, they were able to speak more freely than at the following diplomatic conference. This book records their proceedings. Speakers at the colloquim included Richard Perle, Anatole Gromyko, Olof Palme, Pierre Trudeau, David Owen Carl Sagan, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Edward Kennedy, J. K. Galbraith and Regis Debray.
