Description
This compilation of many of the most fundamental and useful concepts of surfactant action and applications is written for those who need to use surfactants, but do not have the time to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of them. It also provides extensive references to more detailed works and specific publications of results so that the reader can easily obtain more information as needed. The author describes the surface and solution properties of surfactant materials, providing a conceptual picture of the events in question rather than a great deal of theoretical background. He treats the actions of surfactants at various types of interfaces (e.g., solid/liquid or liquid/liquid) in separate chapters to facilitate their use as points of reference for those who want to know how to choose (or begin to choose) the proper material to suit their needs.
