内容説明

This work surveys the entire history of religion in Korea from 600 BC to the present day. It emphasizes the historical development of various religious traditions and sets the history of religion within the socio-political context of each major period of Korean history. Each chapter is devoted to a particular period of history so that the development of a particular religious tradition may not only be compared with the political developments of the time, but also with the development of other traditions as well. The native Korean religion, shamanism or Musok-kyo, is examined along with Buddhism, Confucianism, Roman Catholicism, Protestant Christianity and Islam.
