内容説明

Moritz Geiger's aesthetics as a whole is presented here in English for the first time. A European philosopher inspired by Husserl, Geiger approaches the problems of aesthetics from a phenomenological viewpoint. Includes an original study by Geiger which was found among his literary remains. A large part of the book addresses two questions: Does art really have an essence of its own? and What role does the subjective play in art? Co-published with the Center for Advanced Research in Phenomenology.
