内容説明

Covering recent research into the role of potassium channel activity in normal cellular function and in disease processes, this volume reviews mechanisms of potassium channel block and activation with studies on nerve, cardiac and vascular smooth muscle. Changes in potassium channel function in hypertension, ischemic heart disease, arrhythmia production and myocardial hypertrophy are discussed along with explorations into the modulatory role of potassium channels in learning and mitogenesis. The book considers techniques such as the single cell voltage clamp; single channel recordings; channel isolation and purification; and tracer flux measurements. Established experts have incorporated data from electrophysiologic, biochemical, radioflux and molecular biologic experiments, addressing normal and pathophysiologic conditions.
