Description

As schools have entered a new era of in-service training they have drawn increasingly on a wider range of professional skills - both from within school and without. Large numbers of new professionals are being invited to train teachers on short, day courses or for more extended periods, in the role of consultant. The aim of this book is to provide a comprehensive introduction to consultancy in education and overview of the consulting profession - its range and scope, the role of the consultant, the preparation, planning and control of educational change, training and evaluation. The contributors describe interventions in response to a range of different problems and illustrate various types of consultation which may be undertaken.
