内容説明

This book provides an account of the general area of short-lived molecules, including high-temperature species, radicals and molecular ions, and photochemical intermediates. Written to appeal to a general chemical audience from undergraduate students to research workers, the author concentrates on particular areas rather than giving a necessarily shallow account of the whole field. Opening with a look at the technique of matrix-isolation as a means of studying short-lived molecules, other important methods are also discussed such as time-resolved spectroscopy, and ways in which their results can complement matrix-isolation experiments. Specific areas of chemistry are then addressed including metal carbonyl photo-chemistry, reactions of metal atoms, divalent silican chemistry and high temperature molecules.
