Description
This work follows W.S.Fowler's earlier best-selling book in this series, "Towards the National Curriculum". It charts the progress of the concept of the National Curriculum, a progress which finally crystallized into legal obligations after a two-year snowstorm of consultations, directives and circulars from the DES and the newly-established National Curriculum Council. This book provides heads, teachers, parents and school governors with vital facts on the Act, including the implementation dates for each subject of the National Curriculum, and subject attainment targets at the various age levels for the core foundation subjects. It also discusses managerial and other implications of the Act.
