Description

The 1988 Education Act prescribes a minimum educational diet aged 5-16 - it doesn't take into account the differing needs of children but at the same time it does not lay down criteria about method and teaching approach so it's possible for teachers to enrich and extend the curriculum in response to the diverse needs of their pupils. The authors initially discuss the processes of enrichment and extension and why, when and how thay may be applied to the basic programme. Later chapters give some examples of existing good school practice, organizations that offer help, lists of resources and projects already available.
