内容説明
During the last 14 years, great developments have come about in digital computers. Computer speeds and memory size have increased by several orders of magnitude, while machine costs have dropped considerably. The rapid development of the personal computer has meant that it will not be too long before access to a computer will be as readily available as the slide rule or electronic calculator was a few years ago. As a result the engineering mathematician will in future be spending more time on developing realistic mathematical models for a physical problem and less time on computational details. In the light of these changes, this book has been thoroughly revised and updated. There is a new chapter on discrete mathematics, including propositional logic, predicates and Boolean algebra - these topics are now included in the revised syllabus for Mathematics of the Part 1 Engineering Council examinations. Computer listings of illustrative programs which aid understanding. The previous edition of this book was published in 1973.
