This book is both a treatment of the normal development, anatomy and histology of the human placenta and a comprehensive examination of pathological conditions. It is primarily intended to serve as a guide and reference work for the practicing pathologist and the obstetrician. The second edition has been updated to reflect recent advances, especially those made in fetal medicine and perinatology.
