Description
The authors of this book have organized it to reflect the way grammar is taught on communicative teaching programmes. The introductory section on "structure" is followed by the main section "communication", which is organized according to notional/functional categories. The material is laid out with example sentences on the left-hand side of the page, and explanations on the right. An accompanying exercise book is available which follows the syllabus of the "Grammar", and includes a variety of material to practise the grammatical forms. Many of the tasks are contextualized, and there is optional classwork including information gap exercises and pairwork activities. The exercise book includes a key at the back for students working on their own.
