Description and Table of Contents
Description
The text of this atlas, which is fully up-to-date and illustrated, covers the full range of cancer types and the systems which they affect. Each chapter considers epidemiology, clinical presentation and diagnostic investigation and gives management guidelines. General chapters explain the principles which underlie radio-and chemotherapy and discuss the long-term effects of such treatments. Recent advances, such as the role of interferon and the increasingly successful use of reconstructive surgery, are considered wherever appropriate. The need for adequate conselling and rehabilitation facilities, and the provision of expert advice for the terminally ill, are recognized and discussed.
