内容説明

In the study of international relations, the emphasis on states and the international system has, until recently, largely excluded the experiences and political perspectives of women. But analysis based on gender has now been recognized as offering an approach that challenges some of the foundations of the discipline and raises stimulating new questions about relations among states. From the problems of women in the process of economic development to the potential for developing a feminist epistemology, gender questions offer a full agenda. "Gender and International Relations" is the first volume to bring together selections from this new area of research. It gives special attention to gender issues in international relations theory; other chapters focus on the gender dimensions of development, diplomacy and political change in Eastern Europe. It is designed for use as a textbook.
