内容説明

Providing a systematic classification and logical explanation of numerical methods from a unified viewpoint, this text provides mathematical background to the functional methods and their organic interrelations. A variety of methods are discussed including variational, weighted residue, moments, boundary integral, boundary element and finite element methods. The generalized multipole technique and other hybrid techniques are also considered. Differing from other texts in the field by combining mathematical methods with applications to electromagnetic engineering, the author includes examples of transmission lines, wave guides with continuities, cavities, antennae and antenna arrays and scatterers. In addition to introducing the basic concepts of functional methods, attention is paid to the construction of mathematical models, and comparisons of the various methods are made at regular intervals throughout the book.
