内容説明
This practical volume focuses on the most current computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) principles specifically related to the lumbar spine. Presenting examples of CT and MRI lumbar spine imaging extracted from over 22,000 of his own personal cases, Dr Teplick compares and evaluates the merit of each technique in the diagnosis of a wide variety of lumbar spine conditions. CT and MRI are compared for correspondence, discrepancies, and relative superiority to assist physicians in deciding which is best suited for any given patient. Features of this text include discussions of such conditions as degenerative disc disease, herniated lumbar discs, spontaneous regress of lumbar herniated discs and the postoperative lumbar spine; a comparison of MRI and CT diagnostic image quality; over 700 illustrations with detailed legends that provide a foundation in identification and diagnosis; a traditional table of contents and table of contents of illustrations; and extensive legends following each case study to stimulate the reader's recall.
