Description

A new approach that introduces concepts of discrete-event simulation using the programming language GPSS (General Purpose Simulation System). First describes stages in any simulation problem, using manual simulation of a simple queue to illustrate how simulation works. Then, a unique step-by-step approach introduces features of GPSS and emphasizes its performance. Provides a series of examples of standard queuing systems ranging from simple to complicated; as each new complication is introduced, the corresponding feature of GPSS is described (thus illustrating its precise function). Requires no prior programming experience.
