内容説明

Ophthalmology is a field where advances in medical management, surgical technique, instrumentation and diagnostic technology are frequent. This text provides ophthalmologists with appropriate clinical applications of the latest findings and techniques. The text is organized into five parts. Part one contains 21 review articles addressing topics of current clinical concern or achievement, including critical analysis and state-of-the-art management as seen by an expert in the field. Part two addresses the evolution of specific techniques and/or therapeutic regimens in the management of various ocular disorders over the past decade. The author of each article discusses past and present thinking on a given subject, as well as discernable future trends. Part three of the work addresses controversy in current practice with discussions by experts presenting opposing viewpoints on specific management issues. Part four of the text presents a recitation on management of a particularly challenging ophthalmic case as found in the "New England Journal of Medicine". Part five provides a literature commentary on significant eye-related articles from the non-ophthalmic and foreign journals, which are summarized and discussed.
