内容説明

There is a heightened interest in, and concern about, the promotion and careers of teachers on the part of Education Departments, teachers' unions and individual teachers themselves. Using a research framework derived from the sociology of occupations, the enquiry reported upon in this book aims to achieve an improved understanding of teachers as an occupational group of state school teachers in Australia. Although the main focus of the book is upon certain aspects of teachers as an occupational force, the research findings and conclusions are also intended to enhance the reader's understanding of the operation of school systems.
